Treatments

Swedish Massage

This is the most common type of massage.  It combines various hands-on techniques including gliding, kneading and cross-fiber friction to break up muscle adhesions.  Light to moderate pressure is used.  It's great for relaxing.

Myofascial Release (or MFR)

This therapy is a soft tissue therapy that applies sustained pressure for the treatment of skeletal muscle immobility and pain.  Excellent for relaxing contracted muscles.

Deep Tissue Massage

Similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension.  Medium to firm pressure used.  This treatment is perfect for athletes.

Sports Massage

Designed to enhance athletic performance and recovery.  Several massage techniques, including stretching, are used to improve range of motion.  Ideal for runners.

Pre-Natal Massage

This gentle massage is perfect for keeping the new Mother-to-be feeling better and relaxed. (Must be out of first trimester)

Trigger Point Therapy

This technique involves the application of slow, deep, gliding pressure along the length of the muscle fibers. Stripping strokes release and elongate tightened muscle and fascia, flush the muscles with fresh blood, and erase trigger points (trigger points are hyperirritable muscle tissue that refers pain).
